Lot Essay

Since the dawn of time, love has been the inspiration for many beautiful things in life. From grand monuments to literary masterpieces, sculpture and music to name a few.

Designer Nadine Kanso's quest for love is a new way of wearing your heart on your sleeve with this cuff, measuring 16.7 cm, which wraps around the width of the lower arm. The design incorporates the Arabic word 'oshq' made up of three letters of the alphabet covering its entire circumference and set with brilliant-cut diamonds.

In Arabic, love has many different words representing different levels of love from the platonic to the all-consuming to everything in between. 'Oshq' falls somewhere close to that blinding, encompassing love and Kanso has created a jewellery piece that perfectly encapsulates this feeling.
