Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present heart-shaped watch with enamel dial in 1859 and its subsequent sale on 5 August 1868. Furthermore delivered with a hardstone-set key and associated fitted wooden presentation box centred by a white crown inlay.

Consigned by a private collector, this watch is believed to be part of an exceedingly small series of such heart-shaped hunter case watches made by Patek Philippe, however all with varying decorations, rendering them unique.
