Russia, 19th century
Shaped oval, centering a carved cameo of Christ at the Last Supper, within bands of amethysts and rock crystals, suspending a large amethyst pendant with rock crystal border, the crown-shaped head-piece set with amethysts, rock crystals and an aquamarine, all suspended from a silver-gilt link chain, in a fitted silk and velvet lined leather case stamped 'S.J. Phillips Ltd.', the chain marked Cyrillic 'AS', Moscow, circa 1890
