Lot Essay

This exceptional example of imposing scale and presence would appear to be a prototypic design, or possibly produced to order for a specific commission. The hand-crafted Dallux acrylic diffusors, applied in a rectilinear manner, warrants comparison with the brief range of table lamps designed by Mouille and distributed by SINMA from 1963. Examples of these latter table lamps were sold Christie's Paris, 29 September 2010, lot 310, and 26 November 2009, lot 58.
