A collection of five hardstone silver boxes
Comprising a cartouche-shaped Rococo copper-mounted brown chrysoprase or hornstone agate snuff-box, the lid and base applied with burgau, Germany, 8.5 cm. wide; a rectangular parcel-gilt silver vinaigrette with rounded corners, the lid with striated agate panel, Edinburgh, possibly 1803, maker's mark AE in a rectangle, 2.5 cm. wide; an egg-shaped silver box with two compartments, in a hinged leather case, 18th Century, 4 cm. high; an oval silver box, the lid inset with a topaz cabochon carved with a floral motif, India, 20th Century, 4.2 cm. wide; and an egg-shaped moss-agate silver-gilt-mounted box, early 20th Century, 4.5 cm. high (5)
