Il est rare qu'une vente aux enchères propose cinq bijoux JAR. En effet, les collectionneurs des bijoux de ce joaillier de talent ne s'en séparent que très rarement, et seul un tout petit nombre de ses créations se sont retrouvées sur le marché au cours des dernières années. Les cinq paires de boucles d'oreilles présentées ici sont toutes différentes et pourtant partagent des thèmes communs: la couleur, l'imagination et la qualité d'exécution, toutes caractéristiques d'un grand joaillier. Chacun de ces bijoux aux couleurs vives est unique et audacieux. Dans l'une des paires de boucles d'oreilles, le rose subtil des morganites est mis en valeur par une monture soulignée de motifs trilobés sertis de rubis et de diamants; une autre paire repose sur une base de saphirs surmontée d'une cage de diamants - une combinaison imaginative, un grand classique de JAR. Les trois autres paires utilisent également des associations de couleurs étonnantes, typiques du travail dans lequel JAR excelle. Ici encore, il utilise et marie intelligemment le ton des pierres précieuses et semi-précieuses les présentant sous leur meilleur jour. It is a rare event to offer for sale five pairs of earrings by JAR. Over the years there has only been a handful of jewels by this eminent designer coming onto the market, owners being always reluctant to part with their treasures. While the earrings now being offered for sale are all varied in style, they have a common imagination, unexpected colour, and quality of manufacture, hallmarks of a great jeweler and artist. The soft pink morganite is complemented by ruby and diamond arched clusters at the border, while another pair has a base of sapphires with a diamond open-work cage cover, a daring combination that is classic JAR. The other three pairs of earrings have colour combinations that are uniquely exploited by JAR, who draws upon precious and semi-precious stones for his palette, so that across a room these jewels are instantly recognized to be by one man, an accolade given only to the most singularly creative designers.
