SONG DYNASTY, 11TH-12TH CENTURY
The slightly dished, canted top carved through the white slip with a large peony blossom borne on a leafy stem that surrounds the flower, reserved on a punched ground, covered overall with a glaze of ivory tone that falls to the foot

Provenance
Acquired by Walter Hochstadter prior to 1997 and gifted to Alice Chu, Mr. Hochstadter's companion in Australia, and thence by descent to the present owner.
