MAKER'S MARK INDISTINCT, VIENNA, CIRCA 1850/1860, WITH THE AUSTRIAN STANDARD MARK FOR 14 CARAT GOLD 1824-1866, LATER STRUCK WITH TWO PARISIAN IMPORT MARKS FOR GOLD 1864-1893
mandolin-shaped hinged empty case with opaque white and translucent red enamel panels, chased gold border, gold foliate design to the red enamel, the white enamel face with red enamel sound hole with decorative gold leaf pattern, the black enamel fingerboard with gold frets, six twisted gold strings attached to gold tuning keys on a blue enamel head, with double gold chain attached to the case and head
