Lot Essay

Wynne was himself a cresta rider. The present work is a maquette for a six foot bronze conceived in 1985 to commemorate the St Moritz Tobogganing Club's hundredth anniversary (see D. Elliott, Boy with a Dolphin: The Life and Work of David Wynne, London, 2010, p. 94).
