A RARE GERMAN IRON-MOUNTED CROSSBOW BOLT QUIVER
LATE 16TH EARLY 17TH CENTURY
With wood body covered with tooled black leather, the inner and outer faces each decorated with with a chequered pattern and punched stars, the outer face with applied iron mounts with shaped soft-leather backing, the mounts with turned roped main edges and applied Classical mask, the inner face with shaped central chamois leather band, the sides of the body covered with black leather decorated with groups of punched stars and extending to belt-loops, the base covered with further soft leather, the quiver containing ten bolts with iron heads
