A gray schist head of a bodhisattva
Gandhara, 2nd/3rd Century
Finely carved with full lips and heavy-lidded eyes, the face centered by a raised urna and flanked by pendant earrings in the shape of lions' heads, the flowing hair pulled over the ushnisha and secured with an ornate beaded headband
