Lot Essay

"Richard Gere had bought a 1942 SJ-200 from us and returned it after a movie shoot. He didn't like the sound. We offered him his money back and he said, 'No, I'll just pick out something else.' and he took this one. I think he did better on the deal with the Strat."

-Richard Friedman recalls selling this Stratocaster to Richard Gere at the We Buy Guitars shop located at 159 West 48th Street.
