Arabic manuscript on paper, 408ff. plus 1 fly-leaf, each folio with 11ll. of elegant muhaqqaq, gold and polychrome rosette verse markers, large roundel and palmette juz' markers in the margins, sura headings in white on gold ground cartouches with gold and copper-coloured vegetal decoration issuing marginal palmettes, sura headings also often added below cartouche in red ink, opening folio with central quatrefoil text panel surrounded by swirling vine in gold on copper-coloured ground, oval-shaped cartouche above with sura heading, further bands of vine in gold on copper ground above and below, in contemporary stamped brown morocco binding
