ILKHANID IRAN, EARLY 14TH CENTURY
Arabic manuscript on paper with 263ff. plus 1 fly-leaf, each folio with 15ll. of muhaqqaq within red-outlined text panel, gold and polychrome rosette verse markers and marginal medallions, sura headings in white muhaqqaq on copper-red ground with gold scrolling vines inside gold and white rulings, juz' headings in white muhaqqaq within blue oval medallion with green floral lobes on either side all surrounded by rectangular cartouche of scrolling gold vines on copper-red ground, bottom of text panel bordered by bands of gold and polychrome strapwork, all set within red and blue rules, opening bifolium with gold and polychrome geometric illumination, one folio with central round cartouche containing dedication, slight damages, in brown stamped morocco with gilt decoration
