Lot Essay

"Similarly to some of my recent works, I have painted a familiar scene of a family trip. As some friends and relatives reach a new and unknown place, the unfamiliarity of the location forces them to act nonsense and awkward. The girl is the centre of other people's attention; the viewers are lost encountering this moment. "What is going on" one would ask, is this a game?, is she swirling and rolling on the ground playfully? Or will something happen? Is this a seemingly unfortunate yet entertaining moment? I do not know what the other wanderers in the scene might be feeling or thinking: is there a general feeling of euphoria or are they stunned by an upcoming disaster?"
