signed and dated 'C Bour[geois] 1808' (lower right)
on ivory
oval, 2½ in. (63 mm.) high, elaborate gilt-metal frame with tied ribbon surmount, foliate spandrels and a cherub's head
A paper label on the reverse is inscribed in pen 'Mme Bernard'
