FIRST EDITION of Freud's 'major contribution to the subject of aesthetics. He described the psychological processes and techniques of jokes, which he likened to the processes and techniques of dreamwork' (Stanford). All works in this lot were originally owned by the Swiss psychiatrist and contemporary of Freud, Dr. Dumeng Bezzola, who developed his own cathartic treatment called psychosynthesis. Stanford 32; Norman F54.

FREUD. Drei Abhandlungen zur Sexualtheorie. Leipzig and Vienna for F. Deuticke, 1905. FIRST EDITION of one of Freud's most seminal works. -- FREUD. Zur Psychopathologie des Alltagslebens. Berlin: S. Karger, 1904. (Small mark on title.) FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM, expanded by Freud from its 1901 journal edition.
