A two page hand-written letter from Montgomery Clift to his friend Ned W. Smith Jnr dated Dec 11, 1946 detailing his recent filming of the 1948 United Artists film Red River, he writes ...I am just finishing a Western starring John Wayne and it's been a fine business, all this - particularly 10 weeks on location in Arizona herding cattle all day. I am totally unused to civilization., the letter signed off Will I see you? Monty, with stamped envelope; accompanied by a film still of the subject [printed later] from the production -- 10x8in.
