Lot Essay

Ivor Beddoes worked as a sketch artist and in the art department on a number of high profile films throughout his career. Before becoming an artist Beddoes trained as a ballet dancer and was the principle male dancer at the Windmill Theatre while he studied there. This teaching no doubt contributed to his insight into The Red Shoes and translates in the set designs he produced for the production.
Other titles Beddoes worked on include; Black Narcissus, Peeping Tom, The V.I.P's, Diamonds Are Forever and The Empire Strikes Back.
