NEAR THE RED-LINE PAINTER, CIRCA 525-475 B.C.
The obverse with a warrior, his sword drawn pursuing a female to the right, a second female fleeing to the left (perhaps Perseus with Maenads), the reverse with a warrior with drawn sword pursuing a female, vines in the field; a band of lotus bud chain encircling below, rays above the foot, vertical lines on the shoulders, lotus-palmette chain on the neck, a quatrefoil of palmettes, lotus buds and spiraling tendrils below each handle, added red fillets where the body joins the foot and the neck, details in added red and white; a red dipinto on the underside of the foot
