Further details
The Hockney Studio has kindly confirmed that the plates for the thirteen etchings in the Cavafy series were cancelled by the artist and presented to the Museum of Modern Art, New York, after a smaller number of cancellation proofs were pulled. To our knowledge these are the first examples to have appeared at auction.
