A mottled red sandstone double-sided relief
India, Mathura, Kushan period, 1st/2nd century
One side with male and female dressed in diaphanous dhotis and adorned with various jewelry, their round faces with full lips and almond-shaped eyes, he with his right hand on her shoulder and his left raised to his chest, wearing an ornamented turban, she with hand on hip and arm raised clutching the branch of a flowering tree behind them; the other side with a male and female standing next to pillars, she with her hands raised together in front of her face, he with his back turned, and face looking over his shoulder, with a diminutive attendant figure holding a parasol between them
