Northeastern India, Pala period, 10th century
The Remover of Obstacles dancing within a niche beneath a tripartite halo, his body unusually lithe and clad in a stippled dhoti, beaded upavita, necklace, and bracelets, his four arms holding the mace, plump radish, and dancer's fans, his elephant face with long trunk, furrowed brow centered by a third eye, wide ears, and conical jatamukuta, with two flying vidyadharas and ripe mangoes above, musicians beside him and the donor and rat vahana below
