MASTER OF THE ROCKS SCHOOL, 1740-1850
Of rounded, square shape, finely carved through the russet-brown skin on one side with a scene of a boy seated reading a book under a plantain tree, a bull in the distance standing beneath a fruiting peach tree, the reverse with a fisherman seated on one bank of a river while another figure collects wood on the opposite bank, tourmaline stopper
