Lot Essay

Cf. J.-F. and L. Aubert, Statuettes Égyptiennes, Paris, 1974, pl. 31, figs 68-69 for the type. Henut-tawy was the daughter of Pinedjem II and his second wife, Isetemkhebi. Similar shabtis were found in the Ramesseum circa 1845. For a detailed history of this period and other known Henut-tawys connected with the Theban high priests of Amun cf. K. A.
