GRANNY TAKES A TRIP
The clothing boutique Granny Takes A Trip opened in London's King's Road in 1966. With Savile Row trained tailor John Pearse, they created unique designs and styles influenced by fashion of the past. Clients included Pink Floyd, The Small Faces, The Byrds, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.
Lots 140-144 were created by Granny Takes A Trip for Tony Stevens, bass guitar player for the band Foghat. He remembers Granny Takes a Trip' was an iconic Tailor to the Rock and Roll world throughout the 70's. You could not miss their shop, as it had the front half of a Cadillac protruding from the front of their window. The owners, Gene and Marty, two American lads, were always happy to create from their own minds, but were equally happy to make clothes of your own design and material...
