FIRST EDITION. The 36 preparatory colour designs for the work were transferred to the stone by Charles Sorlier under the direction of Chagall. Both the designs and the 2 original lithographs by Chagall were printed by Mourlot Fréres. Together with Claire Goll's Diary of a Horse (New York: 1946) illustrated by Chagall. (2)
