An applique thangka of Buddha
Tibet, 18th century
The Buddha seated at center on a lotus base over a golden throne, his hands in bhumisparsa and dressed in patchwork robes, the face with full lips and steady gaze, backed by a nimbus and aureole against a torana centered by a jeweled finial with a kirttimukha, flanked by two diminutive attendant figures and surrounded by ten images of the Buddha in different postures, each identified by inscription in red
