A RARE ENGLISH RIDING-SWORD WITH SILVER-ENCRUSTED HILT
CIRCA 1610-20
With later shortened back-edged double-fullered blade, iron hilt (missing knuckle-bow and subsiduary guard) silver encrusted overall with scrolls, pellets and flower-heads (silver decoration worn, iron pitted); together with A DECORATIVE BROADSWORD, THE BLADE POSSIBLY 18TH CENTURY GERMAN, with double-edged blade with short double-fullers at the forte and etched with crescent moon, sun, stars and an arm holding a sword, with later iron hilt comprising writhen fluted pommel and quillons en suite, quillon-block decorated with a clerical bust
