With tapering barrel with large silver spider fore-sight and engraved with a sunburst towards the breech, breech with short raised flat engraved with a band of foliage, grooved tang engraved with flowering foliage, signed lock engraved with wild fowl, a sunburst and foliage, and with stepped tail, raised priming-pan and roller, figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip, underside of butt slotted, probably from being mounted in a punt, engraved iron mounts including solid iron side-plate, silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and later brass trigger-guard (some discolouration throughout, fore-end cap, ramrod and under-barrel ramrod-pipes missing, applied wooden butt-plate, some old worm holes), Birmingham proof marks
