Of sculptural design, the oval cartouche modelled with the head of Garibaldi three quarter facing to the right bordered by a winged putto above, a trophy of arms below and twin cartouches to the shoulders, the hoop modelled on one side with the figure of a nude male holding chains and a female figure clutching a palm frond on the other, signed J. Hakowski, circa 1890, finger size M

Joseph Hakowski is listed in 1879 as working as a Designer, Modeller and Silversmith in Gerrard Street, London. The modelled bust of Garibaldi is probably after a painting by Eugenio Perego.
