Lot Essay

To commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the Martha Graham Dance Center of Contemporary Dance in New York, Warhol produced the Martha Graham portfolio based on photographs by Barbara Morgan. Each color combination seen in the proceeding lots is a presumably unique variant from the portfolio.
