Lot Essay

An identical bucket with copper nails occurs in a painting, also dated 1645, that was with G.C. Dekkers, Wassenaar, in 1982 (E. Buijsen, ed., Haagse Schilders in de Gouden Eeuw, 1998, p. 322).
