Caravaque, and 14 plates (of 16: lacking plates showing engravings 15-16), some of these folding, engraved head- and tail-piece. (Repairs in margins and some plates and leaves, some light dampstains and soiling in the margins.) Contemporary, almost certainly original marbled paper wrappers, paper spine label titled in manuscript 'Krönung Anna'; custom brown half leather clamshell case (spine expertly repaired).

FIRST EDITION OF ANNA'S CORONATION ALBUM IN THE ORIGINAL PAPER WRAPPERS. RARE: one of less than 500 copies printed. One of the first in the tradition of lavish albums published to commemorate the coronation of the Russian rulers. With fine engravings of the imperial regalia and celebrations. This German-language issue has stronger impressions of the plates than the Russian language version.
