MARK OF CUSTODIO MARTINS VILAÇA, PORTO, CIRCA 1820
Modelled as a Carib Indian swinging clubs, wearing feather skirt and headdress, on square pedestal base; also another Portugese toothpick holder, mark of JRF (unidentified, Almeida P-414), Porto, circa 1853/61, with leaf and scroll-edged circular base on claw feet supporting a shell and scroll-pierced triangular pedestal below three dolphins supporting a sphere with swan-capped pedestal above
