4o (210 x 157 mm). Large Aldine device on title and at end, woodcut capitals, ruled in red, blank last leaf, (P3 with 2-inch clean tear without loss). Contemporary limp vellum, covers neatly gilt-ruled and with gilt central arabesque design, flat spine in five compartments, titled in ink, edges gilt (lacks ties, minor cockling). Provenance: Inscription "Marg: Gudii" on title; acquired from David O'Neal, 1990.
FIRST EDITION , printed in a new italic type. A fine copy, with each leaf neatly ruled in red. See A.F. Johnson, "Some types used by Paolo Manuzio," in Selected Essays, p. 256, fig.
