Modelled to represent the French versus the Moors, the kings with sceptres, the bishops as jesters, the knights as horses' heads, the rooks as turrets, the pawns as soldiers, in a leather and velvet-lined fitted box
The king -- 3 1/8 in. (7.9 cm.) high; the pawn -- 2¼ in. (5.6 cm.) high
