Der junge Alberto Giacometti bringt hier ein seltenes Motiv auf die Leinwwand; Szenen von Festen und Tänzen sind auch beim Vater Giovanni selten zu sehen. Der grosse und lebendige Pinselduktus sowie die lebhaften Farben zeugen vom Interesse des Künstlers für den Pointillismus und für das Malen in der freien Natur. Alberto begann seine Kompositionen oft mit einer Vorzeichnung auf der Leinwand, er skizzierte mit dem Pinsel die Personen mit einer roten Farbe und die Landschaften mit einer blauen Farbe, was bei diesem Gemälde sehr gut sichtbar ist.
Alberto malte das Bild nördlich von Stampa. In der Bildmitte leicht rechts sind die Kirche San Giorgio und ein Teil des Dorfes Borgonovo sichtbar, links der Berghang, der zum Piz Duan führt. Von der Mitte gegen links sind der Piz Salacina, Piz Murtaira und noch angeschnitten, die Cima dal Largh zu sehen.

The young Alberto Giacometti here brings a rare motif to the canvas; scenes of feasts and dances are rarely seen, as was the case with his father, Giovanni. The large and lively brushstrokes as well as the vibrant colours bear witness to the interest of the artist for pointillism and painting outdoors. Alberto began his compositions often with a preliminary drawing on the canvas; with his brush he sketched the people in red and the landscapes in blue, a feature very visible in this painting.
Alberto painted the painting north of Stampa. In the middle of the image, slightly to the right, the church of San Giorgio and a part of the village of Borgonovo are visible, on the left is the mountainside leading to the Piz Duan. From the middle to the left side appear the Piz Salacina, Piz Murtaira and the trimmed Cima dal Largh.
