A Shibayama Vase with Cover
Signed Masaharu koku on a gold tablet, Meiji period (late 19th century)
Of bombé form, the silver body inlaid in various coloured cloisonné enamels with stylised flowers and foliage, six inset lacquer panels inlaid in Shibayama style on a kinji ground with togidashi-e and kirikane each with a different combination of birds and flowers, the cover with a finial in a form of quails
