Paul Newman's final draft working script for The Sting, dated 14 December, 1972, 129pp. of mimeographed typescript, with red paper covers, with approximately 35 pages annotated in various pens in Newman's hand with notes and observations on the script, including: p. 24 Shouldn't a line tip Hooker to try and get Luther on the phone..., a prompt next to Gondorff's line on page 35 searching the horizon for enemies, on p. 39 Gondorff should have more a sense of laying low and Hooker has to drag him out of hiding or retirement or whatever, and on the final page Newman notes work on the cards...Did Lonnegan ever pay Gondorff the fifteen grand?...does the whole Loretta stuff work...; accompanied by a mailing label printed with the Newman Family's Westport, Connecticut address and inscribed with an address in Malibu, California (2)
