With shortened reprofiled double-edged fullered blade bearing a two-line German inscription on each side at the forte, reprofiled ricasso, later iron guard in Italian 17th century style comprising flat quillons chiselled with foliage at each tip, downcurved arms and large applied upturned outer shell-guard incised with radiating lines and scrolls, wire-bound grip, and characteristic flattened plummet-shaped pommel with prominent tang-button and rubbed traces of original engraved foliage and flower-heads to both faces
