A gray schist figure of Avalokiteshvara
Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century
Seated in dhyanasana holding a large lotus blossom before his chest, dressed in billowing robes and adorned with various necklaces, the mustachioed face with aquiline nose and heavy-lidded eyes centered by a raised urna, backed by a nimbus and surmounted by a cylindrical finial
