A PAESTAN APPLIED RED LEKANIS
FROM THE ASTEAS-PYTHON WORKSHOP, CIRCA 350 B.C.
One side of the lid with a nude youth adorned with a beaded bandolier, sandals and a wreath, holding a ball and a fillet in one hand, a wreath in his other; the other side with a bird, its head raised with its beak pointed up; tendrils in between, the knob handle with adorsed palmettes flanked by three dots, wave on the rim, the bowl with vertical lines below the rim
