A BYZANTINE GOLD AND GREEN GLASS NECKLACE
CIRCA 5TH-6TH CENTURY A.D.
Formed of a length of loop-in-loop chain threaded through faceted green glass beads in imitation of emerald, repaired and lengthened with five emeralds on modern links, the hook-and-loop closure joined to two openwork circles centered by quatrefoils filled with green enamel
