The architectural case profusely carved with spiral twist columns to hood and pagoda style pediment, with inscription plaque to trunk, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring, applied brass Arabic numerals, moon phase to arch, subsidiary dials for seconds, chime/silent and chime selection, pierced blacked hands and engraved centre, signed W.LISTER & SONS/ Newcastle on Tyne, the three train movement with dead beat escapement, chiming on 8 bells or 4 gongs and striking the hour on a large gong, with pendulum and three brass-cased weights, case key

The presentation plaque to this clock is dedicated William Nimmo of Castle Eden for his service at J. Nimmo & Son Ltd. Castle Eden is famous for the former Castle Eden Brewery which was founded by the Nimmo family in 1826 and which traded under the name of J. Nimmo & Son Limited.
