Lot Essay

Newton Limbird Smith Fielding was the son of Nathan Theodore Fielding (1747-1819) and youngest brother of Anthony Vandyke Copley Fielding (1787-1855). He helped run the family printing business in Paris from about 1827 to 1830 and for a time William Callow worked there under him. He returned to England for a stint during the Revolution in France but eventually returned to Paris dying there in 1856.
