The drum case flanked by a classical figure reading, on later ebonised base, the white enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minute marks, pierced gilt-brass hands, signed FERDINAND / BERTHOUD, the twin barrel movement with recoil anchor escapement, silk suspension and count wheel strike to bell, back plate signed Ferdinand Berthoud Paris, with pendulum
