With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1960 and its subsequent sale on 29 November 1960.

This reference 3440 is fresh to the market and furthermore one of the earlieset examples of this model made.

Production of reference 3440 was launched in 1961 and remained in production until the late 1960s. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 221.
