Shaped circular and on four ball and claw feet, with bead and rosette border, later engraved with the Somerset crest, the underside with later inscription, marked underneath
14.3/8 in. (37.5 cm.) diam.
43 oz. 10 dwt. (1,353 gr.)
The inscription reads 'Presented to Lieut. The Hon.ble G. F. H. Somerset on his marriage, by his brother Officers of the Grenadier Guards 28th Feb.y 1883. The Hon. George Somerset, later 3rd Baron Raglan (1857-1921) married Lady Ethel Ponsonby, daughter of 7th Earl of Bessborough in 1883.
