AN INSCRIBED AND DATED 'ELEPHANT WASHING' CIRCULAR INK CAKE
TIANQI FIRST YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1621 AND OF THE PERIOD
The circular ink cake is carved to one side with a scene depicting Bodhisatva Samantabhadra and Buddhist followers washing an elephant, the other side with an inscription titled 'Painting of Elephant Washing', followed by the signature Baolin Jushi Gu Qiyuan and the seal Gushi Taichu.
